For those of you who have been looking for a bar hangout featuring music with a more relaxed “beach” theme, try the new MARGARITAVILLA on soi Rungland. This new place plays music from such artists as Jimmy Buffett, Eagles, Creedence, Garth Brooks and a variety of more obscure beach town musicians, as well as classic American Rock and Country music.
Adding to a very “laid (no pun intended) back” music theme, this Bar/Grill style locale offers a variety of western (American) style food, from great filet mignon (200b), grilled salmon steak (180b), grilled pork steak(150b), hamburgers (60b), hotdogs (40b) to a really great (and cheap) breakfast (60b). Add to these food items some of the lowest beer and alcohol prices in town, and you’ve got a great place to hang out.
“They say its always happy hour here” blasts out a song from a small Arizona band, and it’s true here. This is a great place to spend some time without punishing your budget: Beer Chang and
assorted well drinks with rum, vodka, gin and local whiskeys cost only 30 baht from open to close. The hostess staff is friendly and very attractive, but bar policy is not to overly hassle customers, so you can sit, drink, talk with your friends or enjoy a friendly game of darts, without being asked to spend your last 50 stang. If you want some company, the girls are happy to make you feel right at home.
Recently opened, the club takes its name from a bar located on the beaches of Mexico, where two of the owners were living and working for the past ten years. The Mexican bar has been famous for its great food, cheap booze and beautiful girls, all three themes that the new Pattaya location plans to make focal points here.
Their new location on soi Rungland provides still another reason to visit this area. During the past year, this place has developed from an almost deserted soi into a place with a variety of great eating establishments. MARGARITAVILLA is situated right between three other restaurants, with NINETY NINE RESTAURANT and CLOVOGALIX on the right and JENSEN’S CAFE on the left. These four places provide you with some great eating variety. CLOVOGALIX (South Africa) features a great barbequed rib dinner, the NINETY NINE (France) features great French and continental foods, with a nightly special and the best (and not expensive) spaghetti in town. MARGARITAVILLA (American food?) features steaks, burgers, etc, while JENSEN’S CAFE (Denmark) offers a variety of Scandinavian food. Another reason to make the journey to Rungland is the great LOW prices available at all these eateries, easily 50% lower than you might pay in other parts of town, and the quality is outstanding.
If you are not familiar with Rungland, it is conveniently located off Pattaya Tai, just past the intersection with Third Road. Come up Pattaya Tai, pass the Third Road intersection, come about 100 meters and turn right into the Rungland complex, just opposite the communications tower and office. MARGARITAVILLA is located up the soi about 150 meters on the right. Look for a variety of brightly colored buildings (MARGARITAVILLA is yellow) with a six foot cement parrot standing guard in front.
