It is beautifully created from a philosophy and from the religious thoughts that are communicated through a “work of art”. This work of art is located on the seashore of Rachvate Cape in Pattaya. This work of art or building is called “The Sanctuary of Truth”. It exposes its top to the sky amid modern buildings. It proudly shows ancient knowledge of the Thai artists.
It is not only a replica of an ancient art, it also has the power of a contemporary creation. The Thai artists have searched for the proper things from different cultures and mixed them with the traditions of the past, giving rise to this new extremely fine work of art. The parts emerging from its foundation are all built of wood to meet the intention of constructing the real “Wooden Sanctuary”.
From the ground breaking in 1981, the objective was to build a wooden structure in order to preserve and revive the “ancient knowledge”. Owing to Thailand’s history of the 17th century, Thai artists know how to build a wooden structure of more than one hundred meters high or equal to a twenty-story building. Building “The Sanctuary of Truth” was not only constructed for its loftiness, but also for the idea of adding wooden carvings of Gods and Goddesses and elaborately beautiful designs. The various forms of art, no matter what nationality or religion they come from, reflect the thoughts and the spirits of Eastern cultures and announce to the world the complete and the long standing profundity. The truth that is shown through the Sanctuary is the relationship between human beings and the universe, which are the Father, the Mother, the Earth, the Sky, the Sun, the Moon and Stars.
