How much does it cost if you have to spend the night in a hospital? Well, my friends, I called these hospitals but there are more including those in Bangkok. If you have to stay in a hospital it can easily reach 100,000 Baht very quickly. Don’t get caught without medical insurance. Call a insurance broker. Have a “will and testament” made by a Thai Lawyer, especially if you have a Thai wife and child. Try “Thai Legal and associates”. I speak very little of the Thai language but every one of the hospitals had someone who spoke English. The best hospital representative who spoke very good English was at the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. She was clear and the information was easy to understand. The hardest hospital representative to understand was at Banglamung hospital. It took the longest and I had to repeat my questions and I am not confident that the information I received is 100 per cent correct or included all the useful information that we need. Ask questions and read books. You are responsible for your own health. This is a free country and your are allowed to live or die. It’s up to you. ha ha ha. The quality of medical service varies in Thailand. A few hospitals have highly educated and experienced real doctors and the equipment to do the job and some do not have it. Avoid the “witch doctor” ha ha ha. Some medical clinics have doctors and some do not have an M.D. Pharmaceuticals or drugs are cheap in Thailand but fakes are here too. Fake drugs can do damage in several ways. Call or visit both a hospital pharmacy and or outside the hospital reputable pharmacies and drug stores. The Banglamung Hospital has only private rooms that cost 800 baht per night and I believe that includes room and board. A nurse will cost you 800 baht per 24-hour day. The good news is that Banglamung Hospital is a government supported hospital and that there is no Doctors fee. You might want to ask the people who have stayed at the hospital for their experience. 038 429 244/5 038 429 580 Pattaya International Hospital private rooms for 3000 baht per night with a 2pm check out and any time after that is charged the full rate.
